- Policy on Library Card Registration
The Ridgefield Public Library upholds the American
Library Associations Freedom to Read statement, and the
Library Bill of Rights.
A valid library card must be presented at the
circulation desk in order to charge out, pick up or
renew library materials.
The first library card is free with valid proof of
residency. Lost library cards will be replaced upon
payment of a $3 fee.
Children, age 2 and up, may be issued a library card
under the authority of their parent or guardian, who
must present 2 pieces of valid identification and
co-sign the childs application. The parent/guardian is
ultimately responsible for the return of all library
materials charged to the
childs card and for all the fines and replacement costs
incurred by the child.
Reciprocal Borrowing and Interlibrary Loan The
Ridgefield Public Library is a member of Bergen County
Cooperative Library System (BCCLS), which enables
residents to have access to resources in all the
libraries affiliated with the consortium. BCCLS shares a
computer network, a common library catalog, and access
to various databases. Any resident with a valid library
card in good standing can borrow materials from any
BCCLS library direct or through our library.
The library may request items from other libraries
through a national interlibrary loan system by filling a
request form in the library.

- Public Computer Rules and Regulations
- Internet Policy
The Ridgefield Library asks all patrons to remember they
are using a public computer in a public area and are
expected to act accordingly. Any illegal use of the
computer may result in the patron being banned from the
library.
